Early wins for Amber Green Solar PV (NI) Northern Ireland

Amber Green Solar, the solar energy division of Amber Green Energy recently secured the contract to install a new 4.00 kWh PV Solar system on a self-build domestic dwelling in Newtownstewart, Omagh.  The 16 panel system (Sunrise Solartech SRM660-250) will be placed on a South East facing pitched roof, providing maximum exposure to the UV rays.

Utility Regulator Rules on NISEP Renewables Schemes – Northern Ireland Solar PV Grants

Following objections from Northern Ireland’s MCS approved installers of Solar PV and other renewable energy technologies, the Utility regulator was required to suspend the NISEP Grant funding while it reviewed the situation. An uncompetitive situation had arisen as MCS approved installers were being precluded from tendering for the business. Power NI had been allocating it to only a very small number of installers, thus creating an unlevel playing field around the scheme.
